Pangkor: Day 2: Pt 1

We went out to town on a motorbike. It is the orange yamaha on Pic #1. After buying some dried seafood, we decided to tour the island. Well just part of it actually.
We visited Kota Belanda and then had lunch at Nipah Bay. All in two hours. It was a very hot day!

Pangkor Island - Day 1: Part I

Hello Friends,
We are back. It was a good break from work. The vacation was great.
Day1: Part I: Lumut Jetty and Swimming Pool
We left home at about 11:00am on Sunday 30 May 04. It was a very hot day! We reached Lumut Jetty at about 1.40pm and unloaded our bags there. It was not easy traveling with kids still taking milk and using diapers!! Roy then left us there for awhile to park our car in one of the public car park available.
We bought 2 Pan Silver Ferry tickets and waited for the ferry for nearly an hour before we knew that the ferry services had merged and we could board either Pan Silver or Duta Ferry to get to Pangkor Island. Darn! 0) We had already missed one ferry by then. Rafiq was getting very uneasy. It was hot, humid and he was also very tired.  We finally took the 3.00pm Duta Ferry. Raziq was very excited. It was his first ferry ride. We reached Pangkor Island at about 3.20pm.
The Pangkor Jetty was packed with long queues of people leaving Pangkor. Most have loads of dried seafood products with them. They say it is much cheaper in the island then in Lumut, which I found is true but you got to know how to bargin fore more (I don't). It was still hot and we were already swimming in our sweat …
We got into a pink taxi (a van actually) and about 5 minutes drive later, we were at Sri Bayu Beach Resort. We check-in to our chalet, unpacked, have some Maggie Mee for lunch and all slept for about an hour. We were dead tired!
5.45pm. The Swimming Pool
After the much needed rest, we decided to check out the swimming pool and the beach. Raziq was so happy to put on his "zipped up" swimming suit. He had begged us for months before we finally gave in and bought them each the day before!
At the swimming pool, Raziq was so eager to get in that he forgot to take off his slippers when he got into the pool! Aduh. Malunya. Nasib baik tak ramai orang. Senyum kambing aje lah kita. Lucky for us, most at the swimming pool were families so I think they kind of understand. I guess…
Raziq and Rafiq really had a good time. That is all that matters! Enjoy the photos.
